Indian Culture and Heritage – 2018
On 2nd Saturday (8/9/18) a display on ‘Indian Culture and Heritage’ was to make children aware and proud of their past and to protect and know about the culture and heritage of India. Students showed utmost interest in exhibiting Nature’s gift (waterfall), monuments (Amber Fort, Red Fort etc) handicrafts, food, language; festivals dance forms of different states. Famous Indian personalities from music, literature, sports also were remembered. Display was exhibited as “Incredible India”. India has inherited not only the natures’ beauty but outstanding monuments in the form of palaces, temples, towers monasteries which are the architectural wonders. The rich culture of India lives in its people of different states. The vibrant festivals, costumes, jewelry, dance forms, food languages , fabrics bring alive the life in Indians irrespective of their religion or state. Handicrafts, the myriad of Art forms belong to different states are represented through paintings, wood work, metal craft, bamboo work, jute and coir products, pottery…. The list is endless. It was a colourful display of India squeezed onto a stage.
