Art and Craft Display – 2020
We had a display of art and craft work on 8th February, 2020. The display was of pot painting, jute bags, emboss painting, glass paintings and buff sheet painting which was done by children as a part of S.U.P.W. The display showed their talent in creativity and artwork. The parents who came on that day for PTM, appreciated and they were amazed at the children’s hard work and talent. Indeed it was a fabulous and fantastic display.

The much awaited Annual Sports Meet at St. Martin’s High School was conducted from 16th Jan to 18th Jan, 2020. The event took off with the opening ceremony, the flag was hoisted by the Principal and the torch was lit up to mark the sports meet open. The march past by the four houses- Shakthi, Shanthi , Jyothi and Pragathi led by their captains was performed before the teams geared up to face each other in various sports. An Industrial Trip to Coco Cola factory was organized on 4th January 2020. The children were eager to visit the unit. The manager of the unit explained to the students about the procurement of the material required for making the drink. The basic ingredient water, its source the process of filtration etc was explained in detail. The mixture of syrup and water, its preparation fallowed by packing and sealing was done totally by machines, no manual labour required. The students returned to school by noon.

They had fun singing in the bus and waving out to passersby and were engrossed observing nature. Food Fest was organized on 11th January, 2020. It was a perfect blend of taste and nutrition. The fest offered a pot pouri of sweet corn, yummy sandwiches and for those who love a little tickle to the taste buds, there was pani puri, bhel puri, dahi papidi and vadam. The school had organized an interactive session with a team of doctors, psychiatrist, and image consultant for the students of IX and X. They were introduced to the concept of goal setting and steps to be taken to move towards it. As the X class students are on threshold of career and future this session was useful and thought inducing. Gynecologist discussed girls’ issues with girls and the importance of hygiene. Psychiatrist had a longer session discussing the mental health of adolescents. It was highly beneficial to the students.

Class I - IV children were taken for a field trip to NTR Gardens on 7th Dec, 2019. The picnic started with an individual photo, 3 D movie, time machine (like an aeroplane) and a long ride in a toy train. It was an excitement for the children to go through the park and see some other rides and a fruit tree. Finally the children had their lunch along with their teachers, got some gifts and returned to school. It was a happy day for the children.

Students of class V to X went for a picnic to Wonder la on 6th Dec, 2019. There are almost 40 different rides like roller coaster, equinox, termite train, space jam and so. Each ride had its own excitement. Till 1.00 p.m children enjoyed the rides. Then they were served with delicious lunch and ice cream as a dessert. Then students went for the most exciting water games and rain disco. It was a thrilling, adventurous and unforgettable experience for everyone.

The concepts taught in class gave them an insight as they recalled what they learnt in neighbor hood. They could identify the police station, post office, park and market etc. They talked about community helpers like traffic police at the signals; they saw the red-light and green light, the railway track and many other things. A Trip to Kerala was organized for class X. The students were eagerly waiting for the commencement of the trip. The train journey started on 27th Sep. A visit to Vivekananda Rock Memorial on 29th was followed by Kovalam beach. The students spent a wonderful evening on the beach. Allepey back waters are famous for the boat races of Kerala. A day spent in a boat house was a unique experience. Periyar Lake (Periyar Tiger Reserve) which was the highlight of the entire trip was of immense natural beauty. The teachers had a get together with Mr. Laxman Reddy, The President of St. Martin’s and special guress. Mr. Laxman Reddy and the special guest and some teachers addressed the gathering, Mr. Laxman Reddy gave gifts to all teachers as token of appreciation for their hardwork and devotion. Dance is a performing art. A way to express feeling and emotion. Students performed Inter-House Dance Competition on 29th August , 2019. It was a medley and Folk dance performed by Juniors and Seniors. The students dressed up in colourful costumes, swayed to the beats of medley and fold music. The vivacious dances enthralled the audience with their energetic performance. The 73rd Independence Day was celebrated with a lot of patriotic fervor. The students and the staff decorated the campus with tricolours of the flag. The programme started with a prayer song followed by the flag hoisting, National Anthem and March past. It is a pleasure to watch this fountain of life and energy. Kindergarten went to Sanjevayya Park, I &II went to NTR Garden. They enjoyed train ride, time machine ride, 3D movie and came back clutching a big photo of themselves, a snack packet and a toy. III & IV went to Jalavihar to enjoy water games, on 15th November. Students showed utmost interest in exhibiting Nature’s gift (waterfall), monuments (Amber Fort, Red Fort etc) handicrafts, food, language; festivals dance forms of different states. Indians are known for reusing and recycling since ages. The world mocked at us for our practice of ‘hand downs’ recycling plastic, glass and tin containers. But now these words have gained some status. We are just rejuvenating our old instincts and practices to indigenously use the ‘throw away’ things. On the 11th of August 2018, Art for All was on display, which was quite appreciated by everyone. The main agenda of the display was Best out of waste. The exhibits included wall hangings, masks, wind chimes, crochet work, pen stands, shoe boxes, umbrella, butterflies, lamps, candle stands, birds, nest, drums and many more.

Parents were in their seats by 4 p.m. The students were very eager for various reasons, be prize winning or cultural performance. In December the school arranged an educational tour to Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur. The whole country was reeling under severe cold condition but the students geared themselves for the trip. First halt was Agra where they got an apportunity to visit one of the seven wonders of the world. The ‘Jai Mahal’ and Fatehpur Sikri. This was followed by a Jaipur trip where they visited Amer Fort, Hawamahal and final destination was Delhi. It was a great opportunity to enter the Parliament House to witness the winter session of the Parliament in progress. The visit to the Parliament House was the highlight of this educational tour.

The picnic started with an individual phot, 3 D movie, time machine (like an aeroplane) and a long ride in a toy train. The 31st edition of Olympic day run took place on 23rd June, 2017 starting from various centers including Charminar, Victory play ground, Bowenpally and few more. Students of 8th and 9th grade participated. The occasion was honoured by Chief Guest SriT.
